A buck scoring 215 inches Boone and Crockett is enough to get any deer hunter’s attention. For Dying Breed Television pro staff member Austin Smith, the story gets even better: he took this remarkable whitetail with his bow, on a spot-and-stalk hunt, right on his home place in Kansas.
Home ground gives this hunt a personal connection. Add the challenge of closing the distance on foot with a bow, and Austin has a story we can’t wait to bring to our viewers. The photographs offer a first look at an exceptional animal—and a proud moment for a member of the Dying Breed Television team.

For now, we’re sharing the pictures and celebrating Austin’s success. We’re saving the details of the stalk and the hunt footage so you can hear the story from Austin himself.

This December, producer and host Shawn Chatham will head to Kansas, where Austin will be behind the camera as Shawn’s cameraman. While they’re together, Shawn will sit down with Austin for a full interview about this hunt, with the hunt footage set to be shown for the first time then.
The hunt and interview will also be featured on Dying Breed Television. We’ll share viewing details as they’re confirmed, so keep an eye on the website for what comes next.
Congratulations, Austin, on an outstanding Kansas buck. We’re proud to have you on the Dying Breed Television pro staff and look forward to sharing the full story.
